GIFT YOUR TIME - VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
:

IN APRIL 2006 WE LAUNCHED much-needed initiative A MEMBERS VOLUNTEER project 'Gift Your Time' WITH THE OBJECTIVE OFFERING MEMBERS AN OPPORTUNITY to volunteer their time.

VISION:
To impart confidence through developing the personality of the child thereby enabling them to grow into self- reliant individuals.

OBJECTIVE: To spend some time empowering and educating ,imparting a skill to lesser-privileged children residing at homes for orphans, abandoned children and for those kids who's parents cannot afford to take care of them.. These children study in municipal schools, in Hindi or Marathi medium. These schools provide them with no extra curricular activities, thus severely limiting their growth potential. to protect educate and Volunteer Qualifications:

  • Plenty of enthusiasm
  • Love to be around young children (boys/girls in the age of 6-15 years)
  • Commitment to the activity undertaken
  • Skill to conduct any of the above mentioned activity
  • 2-4 hrs of your time on a daily or weekly basis

EVENTS: Workshop: April 15, 2006.
Imparting skill building activities with the object of teaching a vocational craft to the girls of Seva Sadan Society underprivileged girls and women was decided. members volunteered for the following activity:
Art & Craft (Card Making),
Jute Bags/Folders,
Mehndi,
Dance,
Image Building & Confidence (to include Grooming)

Summer camp: MAY 2006
Anand Kendra boys home is situated at Worli (next to NAB, opposite Poonam Chambers), it is managed by the JRD Tata Trust
volunteers participated in the following activities :

  • Storytelling with English words
  • Sports- football/ basketball camps
  • Arts and craft camps
  • Music and dance camps
  • Word building - English
  • English conversation
  • Elocution and public speaking
  • Chess
  • Treasure hunt
